It is also necessary to use pigment inks for the bar code templates, as dye inks are transparent and invisible in infra red light. See this post for an example of dye ink seen in infra red light.

Amazing it works. I use a color laser printer on 100 lb paper. Now if only Precision Colors sells Lexmark refills, I guess it's not profitable since Lexmark ink cartridges are already cheap enough.

Are the print nozzles attached to the the ink cartridges? I'm surprised a brand new oem ink cartridge is already partially clogged. Is there a waste ink tank in the Primera Bravo II? If there is, how do I replace it? I'm afraid of doing too many cleaning cycles.

@rsuryase, When I was unfortunate to own a Lexmark printer many moons ago, I would stand the cartridge in a saucer of hot water 60c for ten seconds, then tap the back of the cartridge on a hard-solid surface and then wipe the contacts with a paper towel and put it back in the printer.
That usually worked... :fl

NO! When you print a purge your printing it on a disk. The ink goes nowhere else but the disc you are printing the purge on. So no there aren't any waste pads or waste carts.

All of these carts need a little wipe with Windex in the nozzle plate or the printhead.

Disc Publisher II
I have a problem and I'm really happy that there are still some specialists here ♥

After I had installed the barcodes in my printer it worked for several month. Suddenly the Disc Publisher II is not printing in colour anymore.

What I did:

1. I changed the Lexmark cartridges for several times (about 6 or 7). When I made a stamp on a paper towel, all seems to be ok with the cartridges.
2. Cleaned the cartridges, as shown on the primera webside with a paper towel and water, as it is shown here http://kb.primera.com/article/21426/45056/
3. I emptied a cardridge, cleaned it in an ultrasonic bath and refilled it
4. I left the printing plate in water for several hours
5. I cleaned the cartridge (only the printig head) with isopropanol
6. I changed the printer (I own 2 Disc Publisher II now)
7. Of course I have used the cleaning-process of the printer for several times
8. I used an adapter to suck the air out of the cartridges.

I have still no colours. I mean nothing, not one colour....Is there a "memory-effect" with the barcodes?

I mean, after using several cartridges I cannot believe, that this is a problem with the cartridges, because I have clean prints on the paper-towel. The ink seems to flow.

I need your help. And sorry for my bad english :)

What setting should I set Color Matching to? None, Algebraic or Z-Color. I currently set it to None.

I have prepared a file with the bar codes for Lexmark 16 and 26 so the bravo II with recognize them as Primera Carts.

Hello, I was wondering if you still have files that create the barcode for an Bravo II printer to use Lexmark ink. If so would you please send it to me, thanks. Jay "
