I have successfully installed Epson DFX-9000 Printer on Win7 machine, printing directly from our SAP system. Recently, after a PC user profile change, the printer starts printing large text. Large text printout is about 300% larger than the expected font size. I have tried reinstalling drivers but still not resolved. I have also tried installing it on Win10 but same thing happened. I have tried installing other printer (Epson LQ-2190) and it was printing perfectly fine. Am I missing something here? This is so frustrating.

@Hi RoySem and welcome, Your problem is obviously directly related to whatever the user profile changed in your system, go back and review the changes that were made or reverse them to fully understand them more...

Thanks. I did try to revert to the original profile settings but to no avail. Issue remains the same.

such printers, font size, font selection, line spacing etc is most likely controlled via some ESC sequence commands which may come as part of every print command, or otherwise there are some default settings which need to be entered into the printer via a separate command, or via buttons on the front panel. There should be some system support being able to tell you ... ? Or is this type of printer not being used before at this connection ? but another printer which uses slightly different setup commands ? (everything is claimed compatible until you actually plug it together.....)

Thanks for the reply.

I have tried to set the settings on the printer's front panel. I have installed this before and it was printing fine. I used the same settings now as before but the problem still persists. When it was working before, I was using Win7 OS and there was no driver available specifically for Win7 for this printer from the Epson support site, so I used the driver for Win10 instead. Other versions of the driver won't install correctly. Now, after the problem started, when I install the same driver, it tells me that the driver may not be compatible with the OS, but still installs the printer driver after displaying the message. The test print is fairly fine and the printer does work with other applications (Word or Excel or Notepad), except for printing from PDF, which prints out almost unreadable text.

I was suspecting that the problem could be from SAP itself but when I used another printer (Epson LQ-2190) on the same PC, it was printing perfectly fine. I have also tried to reset the printer to factory default but it doesn't resolve the issue.

It sounds like a Font issue within the PDF itself that’s setting your printer off, try using a different font and see if that will resolve the problem, when PDF’s play up they tend do it in a big way for no apparent reason...

If you think the mentioned 2 different printers should work alike but they don't in your case you may ask Epson support for some clarification
