Hat. I already sent him your excellent Instructions on another forum. I hope that helps him as it did me.

Hi @bikegypsy, Could you be more specific, what exactly is your printer doing that it shouldn’t be doing, can you post a nozzle check please and give more details..

Hello Hat, I have the Canon Pro 1. I'm a travel photographer and was gone for a year. The printer looks to be completely clogged except for one of the grays. Do you have any recommendations for taking off the head?

Normally the Pro 1 can handle been stationary for twelve months in its stride, but in the case of a stubborn clog a continues normal head clean spread over a 24-hour period is more than enough to return it to full working use again, head removal is never recommended for the purposes of cleaning, because it doesn’t work...

Can you post up that nozzle check...?

Hi bikegypsy. Sounds like you live an exotic life! I am sure there a many on the forum, including me, that would like to see your work. Do you have a website? Is the bike pedal or motor? Where did you travel for the year? Sorry for hammering you with questions but couldn't resist.

Hi! I was a happy user of a canon pima pro-1 until recently. After 3.5 years of usage I noticed some problems on the cyan colors while printing, so I decided to print a printhead test page to see if I have any clogged nozzles. I am uploading part of the printed page bellow. As you can see the PC part has two separate blocks of colour and the lower part is lighter than the upper. All other colors look fine. Although this did not look like clogging I run some printhead cleaning cycles just in case. As expected there was no improvement. Can somebody help me?
Do I have to get a new printhead or is it something else?
Since I want to avoid Canon official service (it will probably cost as much as buying a new printer) is it possible for me to change the printhead myself?
Thank you in advance for any help provided!

Hi Panos and welcome, yes it does look like your print head has had it, you have no other alternative but to purchase a new print head, it’s not a very easy task to remover the head and it’s very wasteful on ink, but it can be done easily by the user.
You’ll need to check out where you can obtain a new head in the EU, don’t use EBay, and just PM me when you’re ready to start...

Thank you "The Hat" and also thanks everybody that makes this site run!

Yesterday, I finally got everything delivered (new print head and inks). I made the change and now my printer works fine again. I am so happy right now! :celebrate
If it wasn't for the forums here, my printer would have been useless.
Thanks again!!!:bow

Hello.
I have a test print like Panos up above. The difference is it is in the third zone and not the second. All of that zone has in each section a different print for top and bottom. What goes wrong in the printhead to cause this? Can it be cleaned? I have done some cleaning cycles to no avail

Thank you
