The Canon Pro line of "prosumer" printers are built like tanks. Interested to see how long the Canon lasts compared to the Epson.


Have you looked at Octoinkjet for refilling needs? It is run by trusted forum member @websnail . They are in the UK, maybe close enough for a day drive trip for you and the Mrs. to enjoy a meal and postage free ink.

Hi Stratman.

I'm already using Octoinkjet and the quality is great and so is the communication from the company. Sadly

Thank you all for the travel advice, I think I'll save some money and use 'La Poste'. We normally find a trip back to the uk empties our pockets of around 1000€'s! I'll keep you updated with the printer performance. That's me at the back (not) , I don't think the cars up to it! It's a Jowet by the way.

Did you try replacing the dampers on your R3000s? They contain filters which are easily clogged.

I urge you to get a better handle on why your R3000s both failed. (besides, they may not be as dead as you think.)

Both R3000's suffered from severe head clogging, when a head clean was initiated it only made matters worse. The printer table was perfectly flat, but ink seemed to collect on the far left of the carriage and congealed. I think this was the cause of the contamination? Infact when the second R3000 was removed the rear left foot was sitting in a pool of ink! Both R3000's are totally dead after being flung into a very deep council recycling tip! It did feel good though!
