When I get mine up and running I will be using the PTFE in the throat, I will test it beyond its limits and then settle for what it can do rather than what it can’t, I reckon you must know your limits, I failed to do that with my current one when I went too far with it.
On another note, I use a small piece of foam cut from this larger piece on my filament to clean off any dirt or dust that might have accumulated on, it’s much easier to use then making a holder to fit the filament...

Nope, I plan on doing a replacement hot-end, rather than an upgrade, and I’ll be using the same cover and fan for now, for me it’s going to be little steps, and maybe later when I learn lots more, I might upgrade...

@The Hat . That AliExpress link you gave for an extruder kit had a delivery time of 60 days, at least to the UK. Are you really going to wait that long? I've not been able to unclog my hot end, and may be ordering a replacement myself, but I'll look elsewhere if I have to wait for 2 months.

It won’t take 60 days, more like 30 to 35 days, AliExpress tends to give a good lead in time, that way when you receive your goods if you are satisfied with them only then will the supplier get paid, it’s like money back insurance guaranteed.
I have no choice but to wait, see below, the throat on my heat block is beyond repair and I don’t have a replacement, well not yet.
It sucks but when you damage your own print head, you got no one else to blame but yourself, lesson learned...
