If you mean being able to install and then select a custom ICC printer profile then YES you can. I don't think Canon would list third party paper ICC profiles if their printers could not use them...
Don't know Epson or Brother to be able to recommend. Someone else will need to assist.
If possible, go to a store that has printers on demonstration. Take along the paper you want to use and try the printer out.

If so, that's what I would do for peace of mind. While waiting I would use Photo Paper Settings to bypass the malfunctioning Pigment Black ink nozzles.
