Hello!

I own a HP 7110 wide format printer and I have the following problem: I have just recieved Color Copy's coated silk 135g printing paper and have tried printing on it but with no success, the prints always have serious puddling on them. Unfortunately, not only until I recieved the paper had I realised that the mentioned paper is specialised for laser printing, while my printer is an inkjet. The question I have is, can I make this paper work with my printer in any way via paper settings, or am i stuck with puddling and have to buy different inkjet specific paper. Besides that any recommendations will also be very helpful. Thank you for your time!

I use a plain laser copy paper for proofing it has a slightly shiny matt finish, but it is clearly matt and its brilliant. So with that experience I purchased a high gloss laser colur paper, 200gsm......it was/is a failure for the same reason. The gloss just seems to hold the ink on the surface, it smudges and puddles. I tried various print settings in my 3880, slowing passes increased drying, less ink etc. to no avail. When I crank up the 9000 next I will give it a try with dye ink, but I will not be holding my breath.

Paper without coating will not work, you could make it work by using hairspray somewhat but seriously, I would suggest to get the right paper.

If your paper is designed for laser printers then it might possibility work for inkjets too, try using a different Media setting like plain paper or lowering the print quality output to see if that gives a better result..

You know how much I like the xerox igen3, well the paper I tested, still have 242 sheets of A3 left, is an igen 3 too......after three days I was able to wipe the pigment ink off.... to almost squeeky clean.......I was devastated, and contemplated hairspray treatment.......gave up on that......not enough hair to show the pink sparkle effect, so no one would notice the difference and the 'shiny smooth ' looked a bit sillier with silver metallic sparkle against the pink mat.
