MP600 printer not printing colour

I've inherited a MP600 printer
Colour does not print - it comes out with a purple colour print
Black printing: fine, no problems

Just wondering: what could the problem be?
Would it be the print head?

Sometimes, when all the colors don't print or don't print correctly, the problem is the purge system for the dye inks. Have you done the purge system test where you put Windex or other window cleaner on the large purge pad where the print head parks and then a cleaning to see if the liquid gets sucked away?

If that works, what does a nozzle check look like?
