I recently bought a Brother MFC-J6510DW multifunction inkjet from ebay and when I received it the printer's display language was German.
While that isn't a problem when controlling it from a PC (I installed the english driver and it works fine), there doesn't seem to be the option of changing the printer's language.

Does anybody know how to fix this? I tried installing new firmware, but the current firmware is the latest version and I can not get it to continue installing a new one. I also tried contacting Brother but got no response.

On The Canon printer you can find how to change the language to your own region in Maintenance tab /
ABOUT tab.

Maybe it’s in the same location on the Brother printers also..

You can:
  • Find the manual of your printer, in German.
  • Use Google Translate to translate the word "Language", "Region" into German.
  • Open the manual file, search for the phrases and follow the instruction! (No need to understand, just follow it until you reach a menu where it lists all the languages to choose.)
OR:
  • Use Google Translate to translate the whole file into English.
