Dredmanlaw was recently asking about 3rd party profiles for the Fine Art papers using PK ink rather than the correct MK ink. The conclusion is that in order to be able to print a full sized target patch file 3rd party profiles are using matte Paper as the media type to get around the margin limits for FA papers. This is especially difficult on a MAC since you have to print the target either using Adobe Color Print Utility or using MAC's own ColorSync utility to make sure no colour adjustment is applied to the target print. So I'm wondering (while I await delivery of the Pro10 so can't test) if using the Canon supplied profiling software, which can use the i1 device, to create custom profiles does this result in a correctly sized target print when using FA as media type? Has anyone tried?
