Hi,

The Epson 1500W accepts the Owl inks but I have read that it can also accept the lower capacity Hummingbird inks. Is this true? and if so can the two types of ink cartridge be installed at the same time?

Thanks

Nigel

Hi, Some research this morning on various web sites suggests that the Epson P50 printer can take Owl or Hummingbird. Do the 1500w and 1400 printers do extra checking to stop the Hummingbird working as it would appear to be a physical fit.
I did try and talk with Epson on their chat line but that was a waste of time, I suspect my question wasn't on their standard script.
Thanks

Having bought a genuine T0806 light magenta hummingbird cartridge in a charity shop for 99p, I offered it up to my 1500W, it wouldn't go in because of the shape of the moulding on the back of the cartridge, one part of the moulding is in a different position. Knowing that there are some Epson printers that can take either t0806 or t0796 , I trimmed the "bit" off, inserted the cartridge and checked. It accepted it, showed a full ink capacity and was able to perform a nozzle check. This might be useful to someone if they have access to some "low capacity" genuine Humming bird ink at the right price.
