I need a printer that prints decently fast in normal mode (laser mode) and with good colour quality. I don't think that epsons can do that so my other choice in case the ip4600 is dead is the HP officejet pro 8100. Any recommendation?

I don't use OEM inks and i think i have printed until now about 120ml of ink of each color. I also have another inkset ready to use but i get the same issues. Tomorrow i'll post some pics but i don't think that we're gonna find out anything....The damn head is juuuust dead :(

try printfab or other similar RIP software. I solved this issue once for all! Also you can control accurately the colors ;) With IS ink i have absolutely NO CAST on b/w prints! It's just amazing!

TheHat if you have a digital camera you can set it to macro mode and just take a shot ;) It will look a lot better than the scanner! tip: Use the b/w cameras mode and external light, not the flash. And try to upload to imageshack or photobucket in full resolution. I don't think that this site...

I have tested the KMPs PGI-5 pigment black with ip4600 and the results are very good! The black is black like the OCPs but there is a little ink diffusion on the paper. OCP black on plain KMP pigment on plain KMP pigment on coated paper I'll also upload a swab page of the three inks...
