if the sponge is clear, i don't see why you can't leave it dry... there's no dry ink, so the printer won't get clogged. I think it's ok, but wait for other opinions)
Hey there... refilled about a week ago for the first time using this method. Had a little bit of trouble getting to the ink container on the first try, but beside this all went very good. I must say that this method is trouble-less, even for a newbie like me. I think and hope i'll do a lot more...

p.s. are there any problems with a 20g blunt needle when passing through the sponge?
Why using the syringe when there are those squeasy fill bottles on octoink... it's so cool to refill with them, without any problems at all... one bottle per color and no problems)
