    What is this part for?

I was cleaning the wastepad of a Brother DCP-J4110 DW and after disassembly this part broke off. I want to try and glue it back on but cannot for the world find where it should go (the pencil is to give an indication of the size of the part). Anyone who knows? When I try to print the printer...

Pro 9500 Mk II - diagnostic sheet, which button sequence?

Oops, I forgot about that :( Funny that I missed my own post. I searched my PC and I still have the service manual for the 9500 mk I. This is what I was looking for (copied from the service manual): ============= <Service mode operation procedures> 1) With the printer power turned off...

Pro 9500 Mk II - diagnostic sheet, which button sequence?

I'm thinking about buying a used Pro 9500 Mk II. I want to check the mileage by printing a diagnostic sheet, and I recall there is a certain order to press the buttons to make it print one. I know its here on the forum somewhere but I cannot find it. Anyone has a link how to do this?

Canon CLI-42 "EU only" setup carts

I think they mean do not throw away in the trash but dispose of as chemical waste.

    Frustrated with the canons

Have a look at the Brother MFC machines, they have all you mention and some also have auto doc feeders. I have the MFC-J4510-DW and am very satisfied with it. Easy to refill, too.

    Cleaning syringes?

Yes, I have the SquEasy fill bottles for my Canons. But for the Brother printers, I use the BroLuer tool and that requires syringes.

    Cleaning syringes?

A considerable part of the time I spend refilling I use to clean the syringes. If I use the same syringe for the same color each time, is it necessary to clean them?

    Why Refill?

Even if I only printed one page per month, I would still refill. Why? Because Canon's attitude ticks me off.

    Problems with Pixma IX6850

Maybe it would help to create custom icc profiles for the ink-paper combination that you are using?

Epson Stylus Photo R2880 - buy or not?

Thanks again for all the advice. Got the price down to 50, but decided to let this one go. Don't want to take the risk to buy a new Epson cartridge set and than find out that the printer is clogged. Seller did not want to share the risk. I'll keep looking for another A3 photoprinter.

Epson Stylus Photo R2880 - buy or not?

Thanks Hat and Fingers, for your helpful replies. Of course, what I wanted to hear was: "Sure, go ahead, no problem. These printers will work without any problems after a year of sitting idle." :) Would it make a difference if the price is euro 100? Will it still be a negative buying advice?

Epson Stylus Photo R2880 - buy or not?

(I am usually on the Canon forum, hence my name) I have the opportunity to buy an Epson R2880. It's about 5 years old and is allegedly not used very much. In fact, it has not been used in the last year. I am not familiar with Epson printers. What are the chances that this printer will work...

Difference between PRO 9500 and PRO 9500 Mark II ?

Thank you all for the replies. So, if it's going to be a 9500 then it must be the Mark II. I'm also looking at an Epson R2880, which also seems like a good choice. I have no experience at all with Epson printers. Is the R2880 at the same level as the 9500 mkII?

Difference between PRO 9500 and PRO 9500 Mark II ?

I've been looking for an overview of the differences between the 9500 and the 9500 MK2. All I can find from Canon is something about the firmware and the color management. Are those the only differences or are there more? Maybe differences in ink usage? And would it be justified to pay like...

Use Canon inks in a Brother Inkjet?

Fully agree. I use 2 Brother printers for everyday non-photo printing without any problems. And I really like the ADF, which saves a lot of time when scanning or copying. I'm still looking for an A3 Canon or Epson photoprinter.

Questions about refilling Pro-100 carts: fading over time?

That's a really nice print to have in your hallway. I'm thinking about framing a nozzle check for in my living room... :-)

    Resetting LC223 compatible ink cartridges

I use the Broluer (google: broluer) tool to refill original Brother cartridges. I have LC123 which have similar housing than LC223 but older chips. The Broluer creates underpressure in the cartridge which makes it suck in the refill ink. No need to dismantle.

    Printer iP address

Do you have a Mac or windows? And are you installing by using the WPS option or the default installation?

    Printer iP address

I think you mean the printer's MAC address? The IP address is assigned by your network when the printer connects. So there's no IP address rhat comes with the printer out of the box. The MAC address is a property of your printer's network adapter and is fixed. Some routers use MAC address...

    Best selling printers

I don't know about sales figures, but I think the fact that Canon has the most active threads is because they are very active in making refillers' lives miserable... The harder it gets, the more threads...
