Just discounted. But it's not that much coz the mainboard and the printhead are busted... but it reduced the price even just for a little bit.
But maybe if it's not badly beat and I decided to upgrade, maybe I'll get a bigger discount. Maybe 20 to 30%?
well, I told them. and even if I don't tell them, they said they still will know if I used a ciss.
anyway, i just got back from the service center... the head is busted. the jam clipped the edge of the head causing it to "peel off". the technician said this caused a short circuit and damaged...
@ghwellsjr: my warranty is voided. warranty is void once converted to CISS... :D
I just hope it doesn't take 2months+ for them to repair this, just like my experience when the Idler Pulley Assy of this same printer broke... had to wait for parts... damn.
Thanks for your reply, l_d_allan.
I sure hope that there is fuse here somewhere.
As to what happened, I was just printing normally. The paper jammed, the printer head jammed as well then it just turned off.
I pulled the jammed paper out, via the bypass tray since it was where the paper was fed...
Good day!
my 4760 suddenly stopped and powered off after paper jam... and now it doesn't turn on at all. I tried unplugging/plugging the power cable but still no power.
Has anyone experienced this? What's up with this?
It really sucks and Canon service centers are closed on the weekends. Need...
In my opinion, I would not recommend All-in-one printers... of any brand.
I do not like the fact that all these devices are in one machine and once 1 breaks, it's like you lose all the other functions. How?
1. You call in for service and when they say you have to bring it to them or you may...
ghwellsjr:
Oh sorry, I was replying to RMM and that was before the problem was solved.
Are you saying that your problem was solved by simply pushing down on the purge pads?
Apparently, yes. That was all the technician did. That's why I felt so stupid.. :(
dammit all!
RMM:
Nope, when I turn on the printer, it does its initialization, the print head travels left & right, left & right... then finally goes all the way to the left and it stays there. Then the orange & green light blinks twice alternately.
Now, no matter the case, I find it hard to believe that...
It's somewhere in the dock. (where the print head rests)
Make the print head stop in the middle, stick a finger in the dock and gently press in the waste pad area, you should be able to press it and it should spring back.... Do you call it something else? I don't know what it's called. :-)
Solved.
Waste tank pad/lid was stuck because the ink got sticky... according to the technician.
I paid someone just for him to force it open... which really didn't require "force"...
Damn, I feel so stupid.... ha ha!
By the way, LED blinks twice (orange & green alternately).
http://pixma.ulmb.com/?p=227 says "No paper. (ASF) [1000]e" and the solution is "Set the paper in the ASF, and press the Resume/Cancel button."
What is ASF?
Yep, I tried that button press sequence but it didn't work.
What I haven't tried is:
"Turn on the printer and open the lid when the print head stops in the middle of the carriage way, pull out the power cord. "
I'll try that.
Thanks a lot!
Hi all!
I know there is a button sequence for Error 5100, as I've read in this forum. I tried it but somehow I can't make it work in my iP4760. (4700 series).
Please help!
TIA.
The Hat:
No. I'm sorry that I can't explain it any other way. Perhaps if I have the time, (and if someone is really interested) I'd do a video and post it on youtube. :)
Adobe can, of course, do the flipping but if you are doing 'variable printing', for example, company Identification cards...
I have a canon 4760, I have yet to try CD printing.
But as for normal printing, I would say that am not happy with my canon 4760 and I've decided to sell this and get an Epson.
I have 2 Epson T10, 1 Epson T13 and a canon 4760...
I posted some concerns on my canon on another thread...
I really can't. If I'd explain it also in my own language (Filipino), it would come out the same. :-D
But if you do mirror image printing and you own an Epson T10 and T13. Compare the results and you'll see what I mean...maybe. :-)
The point is, Mirror image printing in T10 and T13 give...
Eeeeeventually, I found a work-around. Well, not really a work-around. If this is how T13 behaves now, then this is the way it should be done....
"Rotate 180"
So on Landscape orientation, if you want to print mirror image and you don't want it to print on the other edge of the paper, check...
Hi all!
I recently bought an Epson T13, the supposed "upgrade" of T10. My problem now is it seems they changed the way mirror image works. Has anyone noticed this?
Try this:
* MS Word
* Page Layout, set paper orientation to landscape
* insert a small image
* place that image in the upper left...
RMM: I tend to agree. I will try to switch providers and see how it goes.
Also, as I have read when browsing this forum, most CIS are not compatible with Canon. OEM inks and refilling are more advisable. I will try that too.
Thanks!
Good day all!
I've been using Canon Pixma iP4760 with CIS installed for less than 3 months. My problem is that the results are very disappointing...
Problem #1: Prints are too red
It's all too red especially printing people. The best adjustment I did so far is to set manually the...
