thanks Stratman for those links and guides. I am still soaking the head just in case.
@Harvey - if the printhead is damaged, I'll just use the printer to print black, and buy another epson which is easier to maintain and better with CISS. It's a shame as I have only used half of the ink bottles...
I run the print head under the tap with warm water for 10 minutes or so, then use syringe with gentle pressure to push the "mixture of drugs" to the inlet port. I never touch the bottom part of the print head, I use the orange clip that came with it to protect it. I soaked it for more than 10...
What I did was use a fully working yellow cart and I just swapped the chips. The test print was still the same pattern but yellow. So my guess is it is safe to rule out a "starving cartridge".
Ruled out so far:
1. Purge pump
2. Starving cyan cartridge
now tried to wash the print head with...
Thanks Harvey and Stratman,
There was no error message at all.
I forgot to mention I have done your suggestion (D) and the water disappeared. So I guess it is not a purge pump issue.
Can I just buy a magenta compatible cartridge to try instead of OEM?
edit:
This started happening after I...
Hi all
I don't know what is wrong with my printer.
I have done so many deep cleanings, removed the printhead and soaked in alcohol, glass cleaner, washed with distilled water to no avail.
Here is a scan:
Please help, thank you.
Edit:
forgot to mention it is the magenta causing the problem...
An easy way is to print on water decals. Very easy and you can transfer it to any uneven surface. There's loads on ebay like this :

I tried to open the site and my antivirus blocked it. It says "an intrusion attempt by alamadosdor.com was blocked. HTTP Fragus Toolkit Download Activity. Source address 193.105.207.130 .
Thanks for the explanation. This is why I asked a few weeks ago if I buy a printer/monitor calibrator, will I get a good result as close to using OEm inks with OEM papers.
that's also the case with my epson p50. I am still using my old refillble cartridges wit auto reset chips. Just wait for the printer to prompt you to change whichever cartridge the printer thinks is empty then just remove that and refill it if needed then put it back in. According to the...
I have done my own tests with epson vs. Canon disc printing and find epson printer using oem inks with taiyo yuden watershield dvds to be the best. I will highly recommend epson P50 for disc printing.
Are you sure about this info?
Have you tried OCP inks? They can be bought in the UK via http://www.promaximaging.co.uk/ contact them via email or phone for a quote (they are actually cheaper). I have just received my inks for Epson P50 but have not tried the inks yet. A set of six 100ml/bottle...
I guess I'm using the right bottles :cool::cool: ang I'm sure they are very tight but don't know what's wrong:
No matter what I do they still leak, so I have put some white tape (is it called ptfe?) round the bottles which helped.
May I ask what version ARC you use. I use V6 chips and they work flawlessly. You just have to wait for the printer to report that ink is finished then you just remove the particular cart, refill it, put it back then presto.
If you remove the carts without waiting for the printer to report they...
Thank you for pointing that out, I should have mentioned that earlier.
Of course I have two different sets of IS inks, one for each, and you're right, the canon has two blacks, one dye and one pigment. I'm 100% sure that I never interchanged the inks. I put them in separate containers and I...
