Any experience on using ARC chips on OEM Canon carts ?

I am still using the CLI-8 carts with my Pro 9000MK2 and ip4300 with great success, using OEM carts and the German refill method. But I started changing with the idea for the long term, as it is hard over here to buy use-able second hand CLI-8 printers, and the ones I have, do not have eternal...

Any experience on using ARC chips on OEM Canon carts ?

UPDATE I have used the 225/226 ARC chips, glued on two sets of virgin 220 /221 carts for a few days now, and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND doing this to others. 1. The ARC chips are not reliable, at least not mine. They do not show always the same level. Example: looking at the ink level window when I...

New technique to clean BCI-6 carts

Here are my 2 cents and system of closing the purge hole I close the purge hole with hot glue, but to be sure I have no problems in the future if I want to re-purge, I use electrical tape over the hole, when taken off later with a knife, the tape comes off easy, and I have a clean hole, this...

Any experience on using ARC chips on OEM Canon carts ?

Lol Hat, no need to apologize, I make my living with selling my ideas, I consider it more as a compliment, although the ratio between my good and bad ideas could always be improved of course.. I use already Precision Colors, I just didnt see the sets of empty220/221s, because I looked on his...

Any experience on using ARC chips on OEM Canon carts ?

I ALWAYS keep my printer on, except for the PRO 9000MK2, as I use that one only for special occasions. I also have no experience with ARC chips, I thought with useing OEM CLI-220/221 carts in combination with the ARC's, the light-prism system would still work.....but you can be right. Perhaps...

Any experience on using ARC chips on OEM Canon carts ?

Thank you for your reply Hat. Actually, I DID think it throughI just was not complete with my story I guess. 1. With this switch I have to start from SCRATCH, as I am into CLI-8s right now 2. I would like at least 1 spare set of carts. 3. So I will have to start to buy empty virgin...

Any experience on using ARC chips on OEM Canon carts ?

Hello all, My IP4500 and IP5200 have given up already some time ago, bought both very cheap at Kijiji and CL, and I have been clinging on my PIXMA PRO 9000MK2 and IP4300 until now. But there is hardly any offering of these printers used any more. Did 2 bad-buys recently that took $40.00 of...

    Staples Buying Empty Cartridges

I don't know if they do that on really big scale. I think if they did that all over the USA, this story would have seen daylight already long time ago. Tomorrow afternoon I will take a picture of the Staples box, I believe there is still one cart in it, but my girlfriend took the car to go...

    Staples Buying Empty Cartridges

Went to pick up a used IP4500 in Montreal for 10 bucks, and asked before to go there, if the OEM carts were still in it. They said " yes ", but of course they were not, there were Staples ( Bureau en Gross here in Quebec ) carts in it. At first I was really pissed off, but I took it with me, as...

    dirty print

I have tried to print on pocket folders as well with my Pro 9000MKII, and had the same results as you. My folders were rather thick, so loading from the back did not go well. Loading from the front gave smudges, it was as when a part of the pocket went under the roller, the other part of the...

Refillable Carts for PGI-5 and CLI-8 with ARC (review)

In general, if you do a quick search, and in all cases is advised to use OEM carts, why should the one or two that are not mentioned be good ? I have a IP4300 ( amongst others ), and refill for 2 years the OEM carts, still using the same, original carts, refilling on average once in 2 weeks. I...

    Inkpress Duo Matte 80 13" x 19"review anyone ?

So here is some feedback after receiving the paper. First of all, I use this paper ONLY on my PRO 9000 MKII, as it is 13" x 19", and before starting to print, I switched with the printer from Hobbycolors to IMS ink. I made an ICC profile with Profile Prism, and to be honest, it is a very nice...

Canon Pixma Pro 9500 MarkII Clogged

I do the same as Grandad35. I have unclogged MANY printheads from Canon printers bought on Kijiji and Craigslist, of which the carts were empty, and then people realized how expensive new carts were, so the bought a cheap Lexmark or so. ( and I bought their Canon for $ 10.00 ) I take the cover...

    Inkpress Duo Matte 80 13" x 19"review anyone ?

Hello, was wondering if anyone has experience with Inkpress Duo Matte 80 ( double side ) paper. I can buy a " lot for less ", about 0.15 $ a sheet 13" x 19", and I use a Pixma Pro 9000 MKII with Hobbicolors, but I can make my own profiles. I am not a prof. photographer, I need the size to print...

    Freedom Refill Method for Canon BCI 3, 5, 6 & CLI 8 & PGI 5 and others

LeeE wrote: LeeE, perhaps a strange thought, but would it be possible, to insert a syringe through the putty sealed tank hole, fill the ink chamber and retract the syringe without getting air in the ink chamber ? It would be a top-fill, but through the putty.

How NOT to fail with the German Refilling method

I try to help as well, I only state that I drill at the bottom, and that I have no problems, as many others. But I never said drilling higher is not good, or worse. I have completed your drawing, see below. I added the ink outlet, and if there was a POOL of ink, it would come out of the outlet...

How NOT to fail with the German Refilling method

I drill ALL my holes exactly at the bottom ( where you say " not here " ) and no problems. And I find your drawing mis-leading, as if there is a pool of ink for a few milimeters. There is only ink in the sponge, and that stays in the sponge after drilling a hole at the bottom.
