I thought printing without ink in the printhead would burn out the printhead. I'd recommend rinsing the printhead with warm tap water until all the ink is out. Even if you have to use paper towels to wick out all the ink through the printhead until it is clean, you'll have a better chance...
Even though I've never done business with inkfilling.com I would still likely do business with them because the original post did seem unreasonable. How do the rest of you feel?
Here is a new resetter on ebay, if any one is game:

This is only valid till 5-9-10 and I have no experience with them. Just thought some people would be able to use this info:

If you get...
At the least you could try removing all the cartridges and removing the printhead and rinsing it with warm water and soaking it overnight. Make sure you dry it thoroughly especially around the circuit board and contacts before installing.
I don't believe that Pharmacist's review is for the MX860 cartridges. How does the printer MX860 monitor the ink levels when you use the German method to refill?
In all inks there should be a bacteriocide so adding alcohol is not necessary or advisable. Alcohol also lowers the pH of the ink and can cause some strange reactions with the ink and the rubber seals in the printer. Pure water would be a better way to dilute most inks. If you want to be safe...
When you did a nozzle check you should see a clean and a deep clean button. Starting with the clean and a nozzle check, then if it is not perfect, then a deep clean and a nozzle check, up to a few times.
Here are some others if anyone feels adventurous:

I can't stand to use the German method since you can't reset the chip and monitor the ink levels. Maybe when somebody has a viable chip setter review for the PGI-220 and the CLI-221 cartridges I'll try the German method again.
That's cool,:) sounds like you should patent the ink. Have you checked for precipitation and do you get complete water insolubility when it dries?
Hope we're not too far off topic.
