There are some pretty good explanations buried in several of the posts on this forum, but one that I came across initially is at http://www.printcountry.com/images/canon_cli_8_pgi_5_instructions.jpg
The example given is for a different model printer but all is exactly the same for the MP530...
Yes, it may come to that. I live overseas and they're not easy to find here and not many ship to APO.
At present, it is still working fine. Just wish I knew what happened to make it start working again.
Appreciate all the assistance offerred by the forum.
BTW, I checked the contacts and the chips. All clean and secure, no obvious problems in that area. Problems appears to be w/the 8BK tank ?? That one has not been bypassed and is full (after refill) but flashing.
10 minutes later....late breaking::: removed/replaced 8BK one more time...
Okay, back home w/the printer (for a couple of days, then another long road trip).
When I power on the printer the readout (on the printer) says: "Check Ink U150 8Bk". This comes up before I try to print anything. When I open it up the 1st (8BK) and 3rd (8Y) carts are flashing. The 2nd...
Yes, I filled all 5 at the same time - but only two have reached the point where the system has offered to bypass ink level monitoring - the other three are flashing (but full now that they have been refilled). Yes, these are the original carts so I have not messed w/the chips at all other than...
BTW, I refilled all 5 carts at the same time. The other three hadn't reached the low level that the other two (that I've bypassed) had - they're flashing now as well when I open the lid to "reset" the two that I've bypassed. So, when I open the printer, the three on the left are flashing, the...
If unable to read the posted pic, the top screen says "Ink tank errors have occurred. Open the printer's cover and replace the ink tanks on which ink lamps are off" - when I do so, the only two that are off are the two I bypassed after refilling. When I reseat them their lights start blinking...
Sorry, must read more thoroughly....refill method was knock out ball on top, insert ink, reseal. Had used this method successfully several times on previous Canon printer that I owned. Thought the MP530 used the same ink carts - suprize! My old carts looked the same but didn't have chips...
Thanks for all efforts to assist. Here's a pic of the error:
Refilled the 2 carts on the right side - yellow and blue I think (not presently at home).
The printer is around 2 years old, these are the original carts (chips not transferred).
The contacts appear to be clean and the carts...
Greetings. I own a Canon MP530 and have just started refilling cartridges to save $$$ (am a novice refiller). My situation appears to be somewhat similar to others noted on this forum (which I am new to), but I havent found the definitive final answer.
My situation is that I refilled 2 of my...
