I did use the manual settings and the green cast was gone but the prints looked the same as described above. Anyway I should not have to make any changes since the profile and paper are the same. This is a manifestation of a deeper problem.
I solved the problem by refilling with OCP black. It...
And yes I even reinstalled the driver. I am printing from LR and
Yes I guess I will have to refill the OCP black. Also, it just occurred to me that this looks like a color is missing in the b/w mix? Is that possible?
I'm completely at a loss here. All of a sudden, for no apparent reason, my printer started to print strangely fuzzy images, lacking contrast and with what I can describe as a 'murky' or 'muddy' appearance. The only change is the new Octoink black ink which solved the problems I had with OCP...
I have noticed that the prints lack contrast due to this color cast. They appear to be somehow brighter and lacking depth. This is most evident in b/w prints which appear to have a slight yellowish cast.
Actually I just replaced the black ink with Octoink and the black ink problem is solved. But now I have another problem: somehow the overall balance of colors is lost.
Here is what happened:
- after filling the new Octoink black ink, b/w prints looked reddish/yellowish and foggy.
- I printed...
I did but not all at the same time. I filled the cartridges as I ran out of OEM ink: gray, light gray, photo magenta, etc. Now I have all OCP. No difference between OEM and OCP (except the black) but I had to switch to another Canon profile.
I just tried the ceramic saucer test and it washed off without any residue. So its dye ink I guess.
Anyway I just got another bottle of OCP black BK159 from the same supplier and the result is the same. He said he filled it from a different batch. I will print several more but doubt very much...
Yes it does indeed look that way in these images. But it is just the black ink. I have 8 inks including two greys and they are all fine. I am posting two more samples (albeit a bit murky since its getting dark here and I don't have my camera). 1: regular shot 2: at angle.
Yes it is a dye ink printer. I'm not sure how to call this effect. Is this bronzing? To illustrate it I am posting two shots of the same b/w print. The first image shows the normal appearance of the print (the light source is not reflected on the surface of the print). The second image is taken...
Thanks for your reply.
I already have tried a number of combinations using locally available papers (Rovi, Kodak, Canon, etc.) but paper brand does not seem to make any difference. Neither does the paper type (glossy, semi-gloss and satin) or the printer profiles (original Canon Pro-100...
Hello everyone,
I am new here and have a major problem when printing with OCP black ink. I have a Canon Pro-100 and have just filled the cartridges with OCP inks for the first time. The prints are excellent except for the black ink: when seen from an certain angle the black areas in the print...
