Hello,

Did anyone try ultra wide gamut inks from American Inkjet Systems ?

http://www.americaninkjetsystems2.com/

They produce inks for Epson printers, and some other wide format printers.
I plan to refill the Epson 4900.

I wonder if I can get very accurate colors with these inks, if I make a custom ICC profile with a spectrophotometer.

I print on plain paper so maybe the gamut will not be too exaggerated, using these more pigment loaded inks might be beneficial for compensating plain paper dullness.

After profiling, how do these compare to OEM for color accuracy and gamut ?

Best regards.

they make lots of claims, the yellow pigment fading issue is as old as pigment inks - see my link in post #31
http://www.printerknowledge.com/threads/gloss-optimizer-epson.11174/page-4#post-94418 or just google for 'yellow pigment ink fading' and you'll get lots of links.
It's fine that they have resolved that yellow ink issue.

I would like to see them publishing some icc-profiles showing a gamut exceeding those of other inks. If you expect some better colors on normal paper with their inks then place your next order with them instead of your regular supplier and let us know
