the back tray was removed years ago - most likely for assumed cost savings reasons. But since then customer complaints about paper misfeeding from the bottom tray probably went up so much that a back paper tray made it back. Other printers by other companies - Epson, Brother etc suffer from the same problem that some types of paper just don't want to feed at all. It's more the cheaper cast coated papers with the fibrous paper back side which create the problems from my experience - the better PE coated papers seem to give more grip to the pickup roller.

Thank you for the article in English. It is better than a Google translation.

You can check out the specs for the new models at for instance Canon UK. I am disappointed to see that the top model Pixma TS9050 of this range only has a CIS scanner. Earlier series up to at least PGI-x25/CLI-x26 had top models with CCD scanners. But some might find 33 display languages and 16 interface types more important than scanner sensor type.

It's about time because the MG series was much bulkier than they needed to be. Now if they were faster in startup as well. The rear feed aspect is a big big plus.
The new machines will certainly be welcome especially since Canon did not spin the new machines with new cartridges and ink colors.
My 25X inkset remains intact. Less work for me. Thank goodness.
The need for AutoReset turbo accelerator devices increase now.

Has anyone tried out one of the Pixma TS series yet? any idea whether you would be able to install a CISS system on one? :)

I don't know if anybody have tried the new series of Canon printers, so I haven't seen any reports about using CIS with them. But the cartridges used are the PGI-x70/CLI-x71 that are also used in the previous Canon Pixma series of printers. Like with earlier Canon single ink printers the new series uses a contact interface cartridge/printhead. This contact interface is not suitable for CIS, as false air could easily enter the printhead and cause printhead damage.

Generally Canon inkjet printers are not suitable for operation with a CIS. Some Epson models have a spigot type cartridge/printhead interface. These printers are much more suitable for operation with a CIS.

This is just another great money spinner from the Canon stable, it has all the bells and whistles so it will sell like hot cakes, I just pity the gullible recipients, or am I being a bit too hasty...:hu

I hate those 7ml carts.
