I suspect the MP630 requires the reset tool... I think Lin posted up that the newer printers will not work with the button press code routine now.

You can find instructions to start a new topic here. I would suggest that you copy your post to a new topic so that it will be easier to find. Then you can delete this one and I'll delete mine.

Will this procedure be similar for the Canon iP4200?
<Service mode operation procedures for the iP4200>

1) With the printer power turned off, First press and hold the Resume/Cancel button, then press and hold the Power button. (DO NOT release the buttons). The Power LED lights in green to indicate that a function is selectable.

2) While holding the Power button, release the Resume/Cancel button. (DO NOT release the Power button.)

3) While holding the Power button, press the Resume/Cancel button 2 times, and then release both the Power and Resume/Cancel buttons. (Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the Alarm and Power LEDs light alternately, the Alarm in orange and the Power in green, starting with Alarm LED.)

4) When the Power LED lights in green, press the Resume/Cancel button 4 times to clear the Ink absorber counter.

Then to finish press the Power button twice to turn off the printer.

When you power on the printer it will work as normal again, but please remember the waste ink has not gone away..

As it happens I have a process for installing a waste kit on the iP4200 sitting in a very dusty image folder.

Once we've gotten past half-term holiday/vacation I will get the images into a slideshow onine. I should warn you though, it was a hell of a job.
