Where to buy a printhead

I don't believe this but today I checked on the printhead It was sent Cleveland yesterday which is 20 miles north of me... Today I see it was sent to some town in Pennsylvania about 100 miles away. Man this printhead is getting a lot of miles on it.....
FYI...I checked if you clik on the guys name who you are buying from on EBAY you can seen all the names of people who sent in feedback on this guy.. You can then clik on any of these names and it will let you send them a msg by way of EBAYS messaging system.

If I click seller name in ebay I get this list with hidden buyer names, I can't click them.

IF you clik the tab at the top labeled "Feedback as a buyer" YOu can then check on people who he has purchased from. I was wrong I now know this is not what you want. I agree there is no way to check with other people he has sold to..
That being said I finally go the printhead a couple of days It was labeled as being "new condition" which it was but it was in a sealed foil pouch. It did show that it had been flushed with a liquid when I removed it from the pouch. I immediately flushed with a 50-50 bleach water mixture so I know that it had some fungus protection before I even used it. Once installed it was missing two black lines from the crosshatch section. Everything else was perfect. I ran two more cleanings and now whole head is printing perfectly. So maybe I got my moneys worth, it just depends on if it will last over time. Only time will tell.

I am new here, so may be it is not the best place to post about my problem,
but I was unable to open a new topic yesterday.
Ok
I have 3 MP 750 running in parallel.
I am printing text and images.
I use original canon cartridges refilled by myself using INK R-CP000 1 liter color ink bottles.
My problem came from replacing QY6-0049 heads
Two years ago a french import shop stopped those heads and I started to buy directly from China
Results were poor: 1 / 2 had default, mainly missing color line or black column missing.
Cleaning the heads (Iso propylic alcool) did not save them....

So recently (2016) I bought from ebay 4 heads (Isscx)
2 are working fine but I got the message wrong cartridge (new message for me anyway) on 2 old heads.
I replaced them, but one new head failed after 2 monthes (wrong cartridge).
Yesterday I opened my last new head and I got wrong cartridge message on all MP 750 about this last head
so this head is defective.

I would like to share on that with experts
to try to understand what is the best way to handle this quality problem.

I think (but I am not sure) that canon don't make those heads any more
and some one makes them without any quality control.

prices are curiously differents on a wide range 28 € to 75 $.
Does that mean that different quality grade are sold ?

Buyer feed back is not reliable, sellers prefer complaints out from eBay
so unhappy buyers are not visible.

Does that mean that I must drop all my old MP 750 and buy new Canon printer, change all refill inks and process ?
By the way heads for new canon printer ( like MG5750) are most costly that the whole printer.

Hi @le boff, Wow, you certainly have some major problems ahead of you.

The MP750 is a great printer but sadly the heads are no longer available as you have found out to your cost, I’d love to be able to get a 0049 head too.

The heads your buying are all refurbished / second hand original Canon stock, there’re not new and that’s why you’re having problem with them, they eider work properly or go faulty in less than a week, there’s a lot of luck involved.

Purchasing refurbished heads can be a real headache and sometimes a very fruitless one, but if you still want to get some then try Alibaba for Chinese refurbished stock, at least if they are faulty you can get a full refund with them, EBay is disastrous for buying heads.

So your alternatives are very limited, you either try again to get some more good print heads or purchase new printers, the latter is not a good option either because you’ll never get as good a quality or friendly printer as you have now.

The only Canon printer that would come close to what you have now is the Maxify, it too is an AIO office printer that can handle all sorts of documents, it is a pigment printer that can be easily refilled, the MG5750 is a disaster waiting to happen, user friendly it is not...
