There are not many think that it is necessary to profile a scanner, (unwise) but I reckon it’s very important to be able to reproduce the same colours on all your devices..

In case you are using or planning to use the Vuescan software, Vuescan provides support for profiling your scanner with an IT8 Target http://www.hamrick.com/vuescan/html/vuesc17.htm#topic11 as well as profiling a printer, but I don't know the quality of that function for printer profiling

Having progressed through the use of the BlackFive Imaging procedures, see post#1, without problems, I have reached the stage:-
scanin Scanner.tif Tutorial.cht TutorialRefCIE.csv which is more or less the last action and I have an Argyll error:- scanin: Error = File 'TutorialRefCIE.csv' no sets of data in first table.

I have used MS Excel to transplant the values between Tutorial.ti2 and TutorialRefCIE.csv rather than OpenOffice Calc (which I found had a lot of baggage when I tried downloading it). I have looked for the cause of the error and found all seems in order. Has anyone expert in the use of Excel or Argyll got any ideas? These are the two files uploaded as .txt files, due to the limitations on file types on PK. The second file a .csv is neatly in columns when in Win Excel.:idunno:barnie

I have run scanin with -v to get the verbose text up to the error and include it as scanin error.txt
