printed a nozzle check after noticing banding in the darker areas of the photo i printed today; came up with this:

black and yellow showing weird bands/stripes:

cleaning, deep cleaning ,change of cartridges were done and since this printer prints a lot more text than photos and that it was sitting idle for awhile now (about a 1~3 months?)i suspected it could have clogged itself from disuse (and humid weather)so tried to soak the head in a slightly hot water+dish washing liquid mix about ~5 hrs or so if that would help and that it did however there are still bands but is noticeably better than before

inks were oem carts refilled with Precision colors using the top fill method.Would like to ask if soaking it longer and/or with other chemicals help or i should be doing something else instead ?

As PK (photo black) is not used by printing plain text it is not a coincidence that most printheads clog on this colour first (but how about the grey then ?).

I would leave the printer overnight and do one or two cleanings the next day (only colors, saves you pigment ink) before soaking again (with a few drops of ammonia or window cleaner containing this).

Good luck !

Thanks soaking in window cleaner worked.I guess our printing cycle tax the grey channel enough to keep itself clear.Probably should start printing more lol.
