We're having a hard time finding a desktop printer and I'm fishing for recommendations. The goal is to have a machine dedicated to Avery labels that are 4" x 6". Every solution we've tried has been flawed.

The traits we're looking for are:

- Inkjet (because we've found thermal printers melt adhesive)
- Ethernet port (because it'll need a static IP to function on our network)
- Straight tray (because when documents "bend around" in the feed path it increases the likelihood of problems)

The HP 1510 was correct mechanically, but trying to manage it on a network grew cumbersome. The HP Officejet 8610 works well as a network device, but is choking on the 4 x 6 labels.

I only use Canon printers because their easy to get a long with and they can be made to adapt to just about any paper type and situation, so there are any number of Canon printers out there well capable of printing on self adhesive paper and vinyl labels with dye, pigment ink and Ethernet connection too..
