In Europe we can buy for the Epson Pro 3880 the following lyson inks:
- R88
- AQ 880.
Does anybody know whether there is difference between these inks?

Well, I could find those at farbenwerk.com or marrutt.co.uk, I remember a remark somewhere that
they may differ in their gloss appearance. But I'm pretty cautious to believe claims and explanations in regards to pigment ink properties by sellers and shops. The actual paper used plays as well a rather important role when it comes to gloss, gloss differentials, bronzing. It is a rather tricky thing to find the
best combination of inks and paper which may please oneself. And disturbing enough I found with some pigment inks that the photo black appears to be different to the other color inks - typically glossier and shinier than the other colors, but with one brand the photo black was the oppostie and almost matte.

No "R88" at farbenwerk, what you are referring to is probably their less expensive alternative to "AQ880" (I forgot the name)
@harrybriefs
At marrutt there is "R88" for epson 3880 and "AQ880" for epson 7880...confusing...these should be the same sets because both printers are using the same OEM ink set, I think...

R88 @marrutt advertised as a Lyson ink, AQ880 @farbenwerk advertised as a Lyson ink, both for the 3880, well, o.k., Pigmera @farbenwerk as an alternative - I don't use any of those

Farbenwerk in Dorsten Germany (www.farbenwerk.com) supplies Lyson AQ 800 bulk inks for the Epson Pro 3880 and Lyson V3 for Epson Pro 3800.
Specialist Inks UK (www.specialistinks.com) also sells Lyson AQ 880, but also Lyson R88, both for the 3880, I think.
Marrutt UK (www.marrutt.com) sells Lyson R88 for use in the Pro 3880, but also Lyson AQ 800 inks, but - as far as I understand from the info supplied - not for use in the 3880?
The Lyson ink is presented as one of the best bulk inks on the market, in the first place because these inks are especially composed to get as close as possible to the OEM Epson inks.
The Lyson inks are manufactured by Nazdar a world leading ink manufacturer
I have been using the Lyson PhotoChrome V3 with excellent results in my former Epson Pro 3800 and without any problems.
