Hello Joe,
I just finished successfully the modification of a set of 9 OEM Epson carts for 3800 to enable the refilling of these carts..
I first tried your most recent technique whereby the valve no longer is taken apart.
This methode seems very simple indeed, but I didn't feel comfortable not really being able to feel the right location for pushing out the flap that blocks refill. There is very little space for feeling out the right position and chances are that one excerts force in a wrong place.
So I then decided to apply your methode by which the valve is carefully taken apart, the flap pushed open and the valve reconstructed. It really doesn't take much time at all and all 9 carts have been modified without problems. All carts do function perfectly on my 3800!
