Hello everyone, thank you for your lovely comments. So yes, I've been printing directly onto fabric - I know there are different techniques you can use, like ironing the fabric onto freezer paper - but I definitely got the best results by using the mountspray technique - by placing the fabric onto card it was supported easily into the printer. I print using a 'photo paper' setting, and upping the contrast a bit, and dulling the brightness to compensate for the white fabric.
Oh and I use a Canon Pixma ix 6550. I just printed onto a bog standard bit of cotton I had lying around for the dachsies - and onto thickish silk for the pandas and ducklings

Interesting to know, will have to go read up on Lyson Inks :) If you have hand washed with no issues then they are probably permanent (or as permanent as ink can be) hand washing would probably also cause ink to run unless it is all pigment ink. Either way again welcome and thanks for the information :) May have a go at this for my fathers club and shirts with their logo.
Hmm. Just had a go at washing a piece of fabric which was primarily pinks and reds, and this really ran. So I'm going to do some experiments with dye fixers and printing onto gesso. Will report back!

A bit of true innovation, at least for this site!:)
Don't be shy Emulator, we know you've been afraid of talking about this years new fashion trends and the wonderful floaty fabrics you've been tie-dying recently ;)

I always thought that one needs to use piezo tech printer for sublimation inks from Lyson, how can you use the Canon with thermal printhead that heats the inks while printing and not block the head?

At my age, my blood pressure would be over the top at the sight of such things.

I just worry about my profile colours, when my wife says "that squirrel looks blue", when I show her a close up of the bird food raiders.

No wonder he’s blue, he’s freezing his nuts off while you’re sitting in your lovely warm armchair growling :rant because he’s nicking the bird food again.. :)

I would not be that sympathetic, our temperatures have been quite moderate this winter. I was wondering about Eire having grey squirrels, did anyone introduce them there? They have very nearly banished our reds from England, just a few in odd places.

We should apologise to the OP, for high jacking her posting. It's websnail's fault.
