Yup, looks like you were right. The black cartridge, a fake with the original chip tacked to it, now says it is empty despite being nearly full yesterday. Sigh. I guess it was just on a timer.

I have ordered the v2 cartridges from amazon. I'm not wildly optimistic but you never know.

Whether I should order a chip resetter I don't know. Its so hard to tell which chips, firmware and stuff I have and which ones a resetter will work with. But they are about £10 from germany or hongong on eBay so perhaps I should take a chance...

Yep, same thing happened to me. Chip thinks the cartridge is empty. The DCP-J132W takes LC-123 catridges, so that's the resetter you want. Don't know where you live, I got my resetter in the Netherlands for about 15 euros.

Well pleasantly surprised
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00RKK785I/
the version 2 ink cartridges worked! So far I have just put in the black and it was detected just as normal! So hopefully they will catch on and in six months the market will be flooded with v2 cartridges for under a pound again. Fingers crossed.

Now just to wait and see if all my colours conk out like the black one did.

Hi! I have the same problem... I bought some compatible cartridges but they don't work since my printer was bought after august 2014.
I would like to buy these cartridges http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00RKK785I/ you showed us, but unfortunately I think amazon.co.uk doesn't deliver to Spain (we have our own amazon.es). Do someone know where can I find the cartridges? Or something to reset the original chips....

Thank you very much for your help!

I don't know. I did buy an unavailable in the uk dvd from amazon spain the other day and they sent it to me abroad ok. (English audio as well as spanish). So they do sometimes ship abroad.

Otherwise if you go to google.es and search for
brother lc123 v2

(assuming that is your cartridge) Then you do get a bunch of options such as
http://tonerytintas.es/30-brother-lc-121-lc-123
I paid 3 euros a cartridge so these are a bit cheaper. Though you then have to add shipping.

I have no way of knowing if these are any good or if the shops are reputable. I have no spanish so you are on your own but it does suggest you have some options to try.

Good luck.

I think it might very well be the same item. I bought a similar one as from octopus in the Netherlands for 15 eu. I did not post that link because I don't know if they ship to Spain.

In @Pauleria's position, my choice would be to buy the chipresetter from eBay and refill the original cartridges.

Just my 2 cent...
