It may be possible that one of the carts is leaking. I have extra carts. I am going to replace the three black/grey carts and see what happens.

Ok... Obviously anything that allows you to clear the issue without starting to take things apart.

Regarding the printhead cable, that's something outside of my own experience I have a dig around for references..

I've found this:

... which appears to deal with part of the process although not with the actual printhead removal.

As you are really only interested in re-seating the cables properly this seems to give you access to those cables but as this is way outside my own experience I don't want to make what would be uneducated guesses.

At InkjetMall, Dana finally responded and said the nozzle check looked like an electrical problem and I should take out the printhead and see if the print cable has gotten wet. I will get to this in a few days (as stated before, I do have a real life outside of dealing with this printer) and report back.

Thanks for feeding back as I was wondering where things were with this... Keeping the fingers crossed.

I am partly dissasembling the printhead to get at the cable connection. I am having a problem on the last few steps before I can actually get to the cable connection.

Do you have a service manual to help with the process?

Yes, but the least step of disconnecting the cable is not clearly shown or not on the right model.

Thanks, this is exactly what I need. I saw this last week but forgot what was on it. I might get to it tonight but probably not until Friday (I am in New York, USA). Again, I do have a life outside of trying to repair this printer. Thanks again.

No rush... Fingers might get a little cramped in the mean time but I can take it ;)

Don't suppose you have a service or instruction manual on one of those "life" things do you? ;)
