I received 2 sets of Epson R2000 refillable cartridges, but seemingly these carts cannot be reset until the ink level is registered as empty. Now to prevent the cascade of ink spoiling when one of the cartridge runs out, I want to purchase an Epson R2000 resetter, but it says for original carts....but it does not mention the possibility of resetting aftermarket chips.

Does someone have experience using these resetters on aftermarket cartridges and do they reset it ?

All of them! LOL
I have one but I do not know whether it will reset the after market chips that do not use the built in battery for resetting.
Those can be reset anytime and not only when they run empty.
Now unless you can show me a way to refill original PRO 2000 carts then that would be an ideal situation but let's not forget that they carry a built ink wet ink sensor that will short out when the cart reaches a certain level and nothing will revive the chip to print communication due to the now broken electrical path between cart chip and printer.

I am working on a refilling method for these and once I either fail miserably or succeed I will post my results.

I also have R2000 carts that can be reset with a push button built into the cart carrier.
The carts are a two part deal. A damper full of ink and carrier that snaps into the cart position on the head carriage.
You can fill them in situ as well and top the all off, press all 8 buttons and you are ready to go.

Not quite mirror images. I got mine directly from China through Alibaba but unfortunately they are not around any more. I have one unused set left to play will and one filled but not in use as I am using the Cheap OEM Cart sets that we can get on ENAY for $15 - $25 a set.

The ones I used in the video reset to full at any time.

Hi Joe,

Do you have a resetter for the Epson r2000 and if so: can you reset the refillable cartridges with this resetter. I am interested to buy one, if it is compatible to refillable R2000 cartridges.

I have similar carts for the R2000 and they work great! I can fill in situ and the reset all the chips by pressing each button. It doesn't get any better than that!

OK I just reset a Refillable EPSON R2000 ( the type you have to short out to reset ) with my R2000 resetter from EBAY
http://www.ebay.com/itm/EPSON-R2000...4984?pt=US_Ink_Cartridges&hash=item2ed2e03678
$18.88 from HongKong

It also resets R2000 OEM chips.
You have to know how to refill these OEM carts and they would have to be modified a special way and before they would be devoid of ink as they have a wet sensor that will short out when ink is no longer touching it.

Hi Joe,

Well I contacted this seller yesterday and he said it is not possible. Could you try to reset all the cartridges and see if all cart chips are turning green. If so I am going to order one. Already many thanks.
