In my country, most people related to offset printing do not want to have anything to do with small inkjet. They despise small inkjet.
This is almost certainly due to air in the sponge interfering with ink flow. Once a problem develops, you may get ink baked into the head, which causes an irreversible clog. The problem can be prevented by refilling early, as Mikling suggests, thereby not allowing air into the sponge, or by vacuum filling (i.e., Freedom filling).
Your product seems a fantastic concept.
So would running them that bit slower make that much difference to you, if it would save you time later ?
