The lens is a beauty, I have one and love it. Put it on a good tripod, mirror lock up and shoot tack sharp images. You really ARE going to have some fun with that new Camera

The ISO 16,000 was to examine the noise level, always suspect in the 7D, but clearly significantly improved in the Mk2.

You can now use manual, set your aperture and shutter speed and let the ISO sort its self out!:) Should you want to.

Lucky man Emu,

Still waiting for my 7D mark 11 from the dealer, who seems to be giving me the run around with some very glib sales speak. It is popping up all over Canada at the retail level, but not from my local retailers.

Probably for the first time in recorded history Canon is giving the Canadians a better financial deal than our US cousins. (Tip for any prospective US purchasers to check out the Canadian vendors prices)

Precludes me from my normal B&H purchase habit.

Thanks for the shots, very encouraging.
I have the 100-400 too, and it is better with the 1.4 extender than my 400 f:5.6.
Higher ISO and AF on f:8 will make this lens more usable on the 7D Mk II.

If you want to see what I mean about there being a lot to read, take a look at this, covering Auto Focus alone:-

http://www.usa.canon.com/CUSA/assets/app/pdf/brochures/EOS_7D_Mark_II_AF_guide_CUSA_9-2014.pdf

All I can say is "lucky bugger!"...........I want one!........NOW!!!

This has got to be one of the best 'guides' I have read. Very well presented and easy to follow.
In addition it will handle the 24-70 2.8 L ll AND the 24-105 f4L

You really ARE going to enjoy that camera, looks to be one to aim for. I like FF, BUT THIS IS TEMPTING IN THE EXTREME!!!!

It is a peculiar brand of humour, mostly consumed and understood by the Britz.:caf "another cuppa TEA ma'dear"! "Get the bikkies Beryl i'm watchin Youtube"

I think anyone other than a) an English person b) a Goodies follower or c) a cashed up Pommie teenager who is able to refocus from his/her iPhone screen (briefly) would have difficulty with this.
Its funny, its clever, and it is packed with satirical "yawn" at the hype Cannon are trying to surround the release of this camera with.

I still WANT ONE......NOW!:barnie

Stumbled across this humorous hands-on preview of the 7D Mark ll. Even includes an outtake after the credit. How did these guys get in?

I think these are the two (from HK?) that do many reviews and when you get familiar with their style, they are informative and amusing!
