HP Deskjet F2280 - are the inks fade resistant?

Hi everyone

Hoping you can help me please. I've searched around but can't find a definitive answer to my question.

I'm using the HP Deskjet F2280 and have printed some block colour graphics onto thick matte paper

Does anyone know if the HP genuine inks (21 & 22) are fade resistant?

black HP 21 is pigmented therefore resistant
color hp 22 is dye based and not really resistant

Do you know if there is a fade resistant ink to use as an alternative to the colour hp 22 please?

That's a question with a variable answer.

Your Black cart contains Carbon Black, a VERY durable pigment, which should outlast the paper:

Your color inks in the tri-color cart appear to be dyes, which are NOT as fade resistant as pigments:

The choice of paper, storage, display conditions, atmospheric pollution, and several other properties effect the rate of fading.

If you wish the best resistance to fading, you must switch to a printer capable of using pigment colors. You will need to use a different printer.
