Hi Dr Anwar

I wouldn’t bother any more trying to enter Service Mode because I reckon you have locked yourself out by entering Service Mode the first time and not using it, this was reported before by another member also.

I do sympathize with your dilemma because I am in much the same situation as yourself and the only thing you can do now is to get another new printer and start again, sorry.

Why you not try contact canon service center here in Jordan by email ?

Don’t mention that you tried to enter Service More yourself, because they won’t help you if you do, try to be a bit short on the truth..:hide

..when l press resume button 5 times and then release both power and resume button ..
Releasing both buttons at the same time is not correct.
As it may be easy to misunderstood here is another instruction:

A) Entering service mode:
- make sure the printer is turned off.
- press and hold the [resume] button, and then press and hold the [power] button. (Now you
are holding both buttons down)
- release the [resume] button (but do not take the finger off the power button)
- press 2x [resume]
- release the [power] button

This is for an older model, for your model read: 5x instead of 2x

For service mode operations to be successful it is necessary that the printer communicates with the computer over USB. If your normal printer installation uses wireless, I suggest to verify that the communication works, by doing a test print from normal user mode, for instance the nozzle check or the Windows Printer Test Page. It is also important that the printer is connected directly to the computer, Canon multifunction printers don't work properly wit hubs. If the test is a success then I suggest to try service mode operations again.

Note the instructions in both post #11 and #28. The important thing here is that while holding the power button, the stop/resume button is pressed and released the required number of times before the the power button is released.

Here is a You Tube video showing the proper procedure for a relatively modern Canon printer. The video is in German, but you can just watch the procedure if you don't understand German. Note that the video starts with turning the printer off, before entering service mode.

If anybody knows a similar video of a similar quality in English please post a link.
