This is probably a dumb question, but since it's my first post I figure I'm entitled to one:

I got a kit from Precision Colors for my Epson 1430 a few days ago, so I' m still on the prefilled carts. When I do refill (which I've never done before) how should I clean the needles & syringes? Not at all? Or run some distilled water through them and shake them out good? This kit is dye ink so I'm assuming it's water soluble and a tiny amount of residual water in the syringe won't hurt anything... but I could be wrong!

Thanks in advance,
Tom

Just disassemble, rinse and shake out to dry. Tap water is fine in most cases unless you have water that is really bad.

Our water has a LOT of minerals. I'll use distilled to be safe. Thanks! Oh, and BTW Mikling, my kit has the EV6 ink. Is that now permanently replacing E6B, or am I even talking about the same thing?

The EV6 will eventually replace the the E6B. It is superior in every respect and is a newer ink type that is..much closer match to Epson, a non-salt dye and is vastly superior in fade resistance to the E6B. Has superior red and cyan. The E6B will be kept for those wanting to retain workflows that have already been developed but the E6B had been one of the first Claria replacements out the gate and its age shows.

Kinda has an odd smell... somewhere between dirty socks and hazelnuts!

I am really pleased with both the inks and the profiles!
