Hello

I'm new to this site so am looking forward to all the replies and indeed possibly being able to help others with their problems?
I have just bought a Primera Disc Publisher Pro 2nd hand but needs new Ink cartridges. The Originals are expensive! I read that basically it's a Lexmark re-branded and that Lexmark 16 and 26 Cartridges are the same? I also read that to make them work the bar code on the bottom of the original cartridge needs to be transferred to the Lexmark ones or alternative stickers made?
If all of this is true (please confirm) then does somebody have a scan or file of the required barcodes that i could have please?
Plenty of people on Google search say how it should be done sometimes with youtube videos but no one is offering to actually supply the scan?
can anyone help please?
Kind regards
Graeme

oh boy antoher CD/DVD Primera thread.. just go for the Discproducer from Epson....

Yes the Chips are RFID Chipped (wirelessly read) without contact.
The Printer or DVD printer will memorize 5 Sets of Cartriges before forgeting about the first (afaik) so basically you have to make sure to have enough other empty sets in hand

Thank you. I'm sure the Epson is great but i have a Primera! Don't understand the rest of your answer really which i assume was about the Primera? Is the barcode not the same for each Original Cartridge bought? In any case didn't really confirm the information in my question please.
1 - Are the Lexmark equivalents 16 and 26?
2 - Will moving the coloured barcode over (if poss) mean they will work?
3 - Does anyone have the scanned file of the barcodes that can be printed onto sticky labels or something?

Thank you

G

no it wont work
the barcode has nothing to do with it, its the chip inside the cartrige that is beeing read contactless via rfid

All of them! LOL
No! The Lexmark 16 ( black ) and 26 ( Tri Color ) simply need the bar code from the Primera carts.
Transferring is a pain in the *SS.
However I have a file that contains templates with the bar codes for either cart # that you print out on heavy Matte paper with Pigment inks and after cutting them out they simply slip into the cart carriage compartment. Then you can just install a regular Lexmark 16 or 26 cart and you are on your way. You do not need to attach them to the actual carts. I've been using my Bravo II with those for ages.
I get them on EBAY for as cheap as $5 a piece. Beats the hell out of $40 - $50

OP, send me your email and I will send you the file.

Hi Joe

Many thanks for that. Could you please send the template file to graemeboyd@ntlworld.com
Just to reiterate, my machine is a Primera Disc Publisher Pro model. The Ink Cartridges are Primera 53335 and 53336. Neither seems to have this bar code on the bottom. There is a small black/white bar code above the pins but no colour barcode anywhere?
Can you confirm my model will work using this method with Lexmark 16/26 cartridges?

Kind regards

Graeme

If your printer does NOT use Lexmark 16 and 26 equivalents then it is a NO / GO
They must have a color halftone type color decal. It is not a bar code as we normally know them, It's more like a pattern of colored dots.
My printer is the Bravo 2 PRINTER. Not the publisher
The "Barcodes" are only used by 53330 ND 53331 carts which translate to Lexmark 16 and 26
Yours are indeed chipped as Serhat stated.
You stated they were Lexmark 16 and 26 which they are not.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Looks like i buy original inks or refills. Will see how it all works out and if i end up using it a lot perhaps i'll move to another brand that uses much cheaper ink or replacements.
