Another Outstanding Canon Printer Deal

OK, guys. Here in Belgium the health Insurance (private, not state funded) is about € 100 a month, with hospital, operation etc. completely covered. A visit to your local physician is less than € 30.- of which 80 % is refunded by the insurance company . We don't have those ridiculous printer deals though.

We have Obamacare. We don't have ridiculous confiscatory taxes yet, but we're working on it.

Joking aside, every country has its beauty and beast. I didn't post this to be in your face, pharmacist. I posted it because it is an outstanding offer. It would be unethical to not post it for fellow forum members to share in the savings.

Hi Stratman: yes I understand your post. I just want to make a fair comparison by specifically stating private insurance, thus not stated funded....as Obamacare is. A Canon Pro-100 costs €450 in the EU, more than 12x more compared to the US deals and WITHOUT CB offers. Ohhh pity us.

The fair comparison is how much the identical printer costs in your location, not a tangential argument about healthcare costs.

But now that you have brought healthcare up... It seems that your insurer has you pay the bill, unless this is just your "copay", and then reimburses you 80% back. How is it you get an 80% refund on a visit to your local physician? Where does that money come from and why does this occur?

Also, it would appear the physician is grossly underpaid unless the insurer reimburses the physician on top of what you paid. If so, by how much and by what mechanism?

How does your healthcare system work?

As I expect you are aware, we have the NHS and you are fully covered if you stay within the system, but what do you have in Ireland?

Pro 100 cost £330 to £360.

took you a while to bite, but looks like you liked the first one enough to get a second one, nice.

from what i can tell the quality is up there with the best cannon printers of years past.

the 8 ink carts alone are worth $48, plus you get a print head, 50 sheets of photo paper and a quality canon printer.

@pharmacist because of the prices they charge for these printers, we here in the EU can quietly go some place and have a heart attack and then benefit from the good health care service we got..

Our GP’s are handsomely well paid here, a minimum of €350.000, and the printer prices are just as high… click to enlarge

At £30 per patient reimbursement, one would need to see nearly 7000 patient visits per year to earn £100,000 IF your expenses were ~50% of gross income. The patients per day is doable. The sticking point is the expenses. Then there is taxation taking a bite, which I do not know the rate in England.

For that price, would it be cheaper to find someone in the States to mail you a printer? Of course there could be issues with voltage and chip region.

They are heavy beasts! I haven't put one to use yet -- space issue at the moment. But I intend to be fully impressed after all the talk of the Pro-100's performance.
