my MP830 is now at 55,000 pages. anyone ever change their waste pads twice on same printer ?

As the printer is old, I think an absorber kit will be hard to find. The parts number for an absorber kit for the MP610 is QY5-0181-000. You could try googling this parts number or just QY5-0181.

Here is one from Ebay.

hceuterpe, i see peterbj found you a few on ebay. pads for older printers are getting hard to find, i paid $15 each for 2 sets like 5+ years ago

i still have one set of new MP830 pads and luckily a new MP830 as a spare.

of course if i didn't have a spare MP830, my current MP830 would have died years ago......

Depends where you live. Canon direct is normally the most likely place, http://www.crc-tasktron.co.uk/ if you are in the UK is a good source for printheads and the odd and only odd waste ink pad.
