Perform a print head alignment. See if that makes any difference. Report back.

Hi,

please take a look here:
Canon MG5250 - Rozmazany pasek czarny w teście dysz
(en_EN: Canon MG5250 - Blurry black strip on nozzle check)

In shot, it is deformation of nozzle set for CLI-BK.
It can be confirmed with naked eye (or with magnification glass, camera in macro mode or CCD flatbed scanner).

This phenomenon has very remarkable appearance in extended nozzle print from service mode "test print" (white and dark vertical stripes):

Unrecoverable :(

I wonder what caused this kind of damage to the dye (photo) black nozzles only? Maybe forcing water or other cleaning fluid through the nozzles from the ink inlet and using too much pressure caused the damage?

Similar problem here: http://www.druckerchannel.de/forum....interpretation_des_testausdrucks_balken_links
..and the same diagnosis like Lukasc explained...probably worn out PH..
..see answer 8: Pass bitte auf, dass du niemals mit leeren Patronen druckst, dein Fotoblack sieht aus, als wäre die Düsenreihe verzogen, bedingt durch fehlende Kühlung durch die Tinte.. (=possibly a deformation of one nozzle row, from printing with one empty cart, here photoblack)

It is possibly related to overheat.

Most times CLI-BK and CLI-Y are affected, but CLI-Y deformation is harder to spot because of bright appearance of yellow ink (it is wise to extract blue chanel from scanned nozzle print).

Please note, that CLI-BK and CLI-Y nozzles layouts are solely 5 pl and each of them is placed on 1 "ink channel" ("ink channel" is a row in ceramic insert).
CLI-C nozzles layouts are combined with 5 pl, 2 pl, 1 pl droplets and placed on 2 "ink channels". CLI-M is same configuration as CLI-C.

So, CLI-Y has twice heat emission per "ink channel" compared to CLI-C or CLI-M in same task. And there are some contents, that ensures heavy workload of CLI-Y nozzles: yellows, greens and reds.

CLI-BK is extensively used only in nearly 100% blacks, but:
- very offen CLI-BK 3rd party inks are poor quality - ink flow problems and nozzles clogs
- CLI-BK is rare used in most non-photo printing tasks - general ink flow is poor and leads to clogs
- CLI-BK problems are easy to spot on nozzle prints compared to CLI-Y errors
