So here is a scan of the nozzle check with the Canon oem inks. As it should look. http://www.pictureshack.us/images/57878_nozzle_check_high_res_good.jpg
The mystery is that today, I cleaned some cli-521 carts for my mp540 the same way as I do with the cli-8 tanks, dryed them the same way, and...
So I'm back after having used much, too much magenta ink on testing. I ordered another set of inks from oktoinkjet, and did some more tests.
I flushed a cart with Pharmacist's solution, and did not let it dry too much, I just use the syringe to blow the water out of the sponge. Then I filled the...
@The Hat : Thank you. Yes, I use this chart to check whether there's something wrong. I'd say the problem is mainly in the magenta but the cyan is also affected. Yellow and black seem to behave normally, but I have a theory.
The 100% patches look good for all colours, with no stripes. Where...
Well, unfortunately, nothing is really solved.
The cart that was not cleaned showed a great colour shift because of the residual original ink present in the cart. So I had to flush it.
To do so, I used demineralized water only, and the procedure shown on the video. I did it slowly to avoid...
Ok, so after having tested about every possibility regarding cleaning and drying the carts with no success, I took another empty and dried magenta cart, and filled it with ink without flushing it. Put it back into the printer, and surprise! No more lines or streaks.
There are two possible...
Thanks for your insight. I keep wondering what I could be doing wrong, as I am probably doing something wrong.
How important it is to have a perfectly dry cart before refilling? Because I wonder if blowing into the cart didn't inject unwanted air into the cart. But as I wanted to go fast, I did...
You should first make sure you don't have an ink feed problem, as it very often is the culprit.
Are those Canon Oem carts refilled? If you're using aftermarket refillable tanks, beware that they are often low quality, and the sponge gets dry after a couple of refills.
You should try replacing...
Some of you know I've recently bought a second hand IP5200, which was loaded with almost full OEM carts. Print quality was great. But I decided to refill using octoinkjet inks and top fill method. And that's when my problems began.
I got a couple of spare carts I bought on ebay. I purged them...
Thanks for the clarification! What's the best way of using the mixture? I used the bottom inlet with a clip to put a couple of ml into the cart, with the pressure of a syringe.. Does it need a couple of minutes to work on the sponge? And after that, can I blow into the top hole (ball removed) to...
Thanks for sharing, I was looking for the receipt lately, because I've been refilling old carts that have been purged with water, but they don't work as they should.
My question, however, is in what proportions are those ingredients used? If I remember correctly, the % is concentration, right?
Thanks for the high resolution paper tip, I will buy some.
Ok, so after switching all carts back to the OEM Canons, I switched back to the refilled carts one by one, beginning with cyan, then yellow and then magenta, and the quality remained the same as with the OEM carts. So it probably WAS...
