I also prefer semigloss/luster/pearl/satin papers, but some really prefer glossy paper and pigment ink is suboptimal for those of papers...

I presume the new colorprof option will eliminate the elevated black level when BPC is checked and the profile will print the darkest...

I suggest definitely the Colormunki Photo: you can use ArgyllCMS to create even more accurate profiles.
