Are there any particular "fan favorites" when it comes to the canon 225 machines here?
Ive not been thrilled with the Mp990 to be honest.... its got decent output, but its a PIG on ink cleaning cycles.... I made the mistake of turning if off between uses... it EMPTIED the tanks without making...
I know you CAN find indirect ways to print from Ipads, Iphones, i-devices, etc. All those method require either sending the docs to a hardwired PC, or using 3rd party apps to "fake" the printing capability. Ive tried them all! While this works for me- I decided I wanted a cleaner option for my 3...
Wifi print servers will NOT work with ipads.... even Apple ones (airport express).... been there- tried it.
One other option I think would work might be expanding my options to include CLI-226/PGI-225 printers. If I understand correctly, I can pull the chips off them and glue then onto some of...
I need a airprint capable printer...
I'm bummed because I have a perfectly good Mp990 (3 in fact!) and a Pro9000 printer...
However, Im giving up on the workaround for printing from ios devices and just NEED to get a airprint printer...
I have ink and empty carts to do CLI8 or the 221.220...
Websnail - you seem particulary versed in this area....
Besides limiting maintenance cycles- are there other things that can be done to limit the waste ink? For example- does borderless printing add significantly to the waste?
that's exactly what my take is on the issue now. I now laugh at the extra maintenance cycle knowing that I have destroyed canons sinister "razor-blade" profit strategy by refilling my own carts!
Now the last laugh may be on me when the waste ink overflows- but I'm hoping for a solution from the...
No- I'm agreeing with you.... just commenting that with the price of the printhead that high- I wish I would have bought a few more refurbs at $77.... $95 is still a steal.
sweet- first post, and ask for email response so you dont have to come back? :-)
Not very neighborly....
My suggestion is cheap laser.... and Im not emailing it! :-)
$77. Hmmm. I wish I would have bought even MORE Mp990's when they were $77 then!
6120's are available for $95- not as good as the $77 deal- but thats still a sweet price for a good photo printer!
With another batch of cheap refurbs available from Canon, it seems like a decent time to buy a couple printers from them.
The prices they sell these for -in some cases- barely cover the oem ink cart cost. When you consider the value of the print heads- they are generally a slamdunk it terms of...
I found a local supplier for OEM (old style-windowed) 220/221 carts. It might be pricey to ship to Europe, but if theres any US folks here looking for them- let me know.
"chinese copies" and "high quality" - those words are RARELY used in the same sentence.
You might get lucky, but I wouldn't touch any crap-reverse-engineered (aka stolen) Chinese copies of authentic items.
NO offense- but this seems like a lot of work for limited benefit.
Unless you have a pretty precise scale- I think trying to blindly fill purely by weight will result in a mess.
I've weighed completely flushed carts and there is still some variance.... I cant imagine how much fluctuation...
