My love of tech began with the Apple IIe, which at first glance seemed like a typewriter with a TV on top. I quickly learned (mostly self-taught) to master the computer enough to graduate to teaching its use to 9th graders. Progressed through the Mac versions, always learning the apps first so I could teach the teachers. A major twist came when I was assigned to the PC lab, with IBM PC-ATs using DOS, then Windows 3, 95, etc. I started to deal with hardware issues also, and helped our high school be one of the first in the district to be wired for the internet and networked.
I also worked in middle and elementary schools, with both PCs and Macs; I was tech support and network manager at the latter.
Now that I'm retired, I enjoy my OWN projects using my PREFERRED equipment, on my own schedule.
PS: Yeah, my avatar looks a bit young for a retiree, but that's the way I FEEL inside (and wish to high heaven I still looked like that).
