Can't seem to find the L1800 in Switzerland yet. In US it seems to cost $800. So it will cost same or more in Europe. I can get the 1500w for $370 add another $100 for CISS+ink and I will still save $300. Hmmm.....
Ok have not clicked the PAY button. The Epson L1800 looks interesting? Should I hold out for it?

Do you know what kind of ink 1290 used? I assume dye ink too?
Anyway just ordered the 1500w, will arrive on Monday. Need to use ASAP for a client meeting so will have to use the ink it comes with. Can't find dye ink sellers...
To Apostolos,
In that case maybe I should just go for dye based ink. It is cheaper anyway and less clogging in general from what I understand. The company I linked earlier have dye version too-

Any reason why you want...
Thanks for the replies so far.So the printer seems decent enough.
Any views on cheaper after market inks similar to the default ones that I could buy in Europe?
I have been searching the forum and bit confused about the chipped ink part.
EDIT- Ok so this seems straight forward...
Hi I have an Epson 1290 which has started to seriously clog and no amount of cleaning with glass cleaner, warm water, alcohol etc is getting rid of the clogs. I have tried 10+ times now.
So I have decided to buy a new printer. I use the printer mainly for presenting graphic designs to clients...
