    Pixma 5150 Error B200

Here's the story. Went out of black ink. Took the pigment black ink cartridge out, started refilling it, but noticed that 2/3 of the square area of the bottom sponge remained bone dry even after refilling it, the last third was soaking with ink. Put a few drops of ink on the bottom sponge just...

The short way was what I was looking for. Another short question, if the problem is too light magenta, will a few drops of dye based black ink in the magenta bottle help? Making it a bit darker magenta, or it just doesnt work that way?

This post of yours was super useful!!! So I came across a epson refill ink bottle magemta, model T6643...can I use this ink for my canon or it will damage the nozzles due to different formulatiom, viscosity etc etc? Its genuone epson ink and is three times the price of the inks I use now.

Canon Pixma MG5150 color print quality decline

The regular print nozzle check pattern is exactly the way it was before the cleaning. So if its up to the ink, the easiest way is to buy an original canon magenta and see if the prints are better, right? Probably this is just a bad batch of ink...right?

Better late than never. Here is the test page. Couldnt fit the whole pic so extracted the colors only. if needed will post the rest of the page. This is after washing the head and two cycles of print head cleaning. To me it seems bad..

Canon Pixma MG5150 color print quality decline

Well too late to be gentle now, been using as much force as I could through the syringe for the past 24 hours :-( I read somewhere that putting the nozzles close above hoot steam from boiling water could help unclogging, is this true? Never the less, I will try the diagnostic test first thing...

Canon Pixma MG5150 color print quality decline

When i force window cleaner/distilled water with a syringe under pressure through the magenta port of the printhead the flow underneath seems pretty even, if a nozzle is clogged can it be seen as an irregular stream of water or is it not that noticable with the naked eye?

Canon Pixma MG5150 color print quality decline

Thanks for the extensive info on the refilling methods. So back to my present problem, if I understood roght, the cartridges themselves can not be causing this problems since i flushed an cleaned the magenta. So now its down to low quality magenta ink or clogged/overheated nozzle. The diagnostic...

Lukasz, yout test print looks pretty much the same as mine, only in different direction(cyan vs magenta) No white streaking but different color letters. PeterBJ, the way I am refillin them is by a syringe and a needle, through the drilled hole on the top which I drilled myself, very slowly...

Wow I am impressed at the speed that you guys had your input on this matter. First, I will upload the nozzle check pattern. To answer stratman's questions, I am still using the factory cartridges. I am refilling them with a syringe through a hole I drilled in them and then cover that hole with...

I am having the folowing problem. Over time the color prints have started degrading. Colors in printed images show a bit dull, kinda blueish, photos are waaaay cooler than they used to be. I tried the printer deep cleaning, tried manualy cleaning woth windex and distilled water to no avail. When...
